Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray has expressed dismay over the decisions of the Ministry of Education for banning seventy (70) schools from taking public exams because it has the potential of affecting over ten thousand ( 10,000) pupils not to write this year’s west African Senior Secondary examination ( WASSE) .
He made this revelation to journalists on Monday 13th March 2017. In his usual press conference at the party headquarter, at Rawdon Street in Freetown.
He stressed that Education is a right and not a favor and the Minister of Education needs to allow pupils to take their examination and also needs to take necessary actions on the school authority rather than stopping pupils from taking their exams which to him is their academic rights.
He further that Education under the All Peoples Congress is a mess and he disclosed that recently, the APC Government received 23 million Euros from its partners for the purpose of education, but yet teachers and lectures are crying for salary increment and better conditions of service.
He also said the president recovery priority program has failed because they failed to direct their actions on issues that will necessitate the development of schools in the country which to him is a mockery to citizens of this country.
Responding to questions, Mr. Kamarainba said the Education Minister is a failure because he has failed to address the issue of Njala University. “It’s almost ninety days no learning is going on since college and university reopens,’’
Mr. Kamarainba has called on all Sierra Leoneans to come out in Chinese number and register on the 20th March 2017 so that the APC government will not have the opportunity again to twist the outcome of the elections results come 2018 presidential and parliamentary elections nationwide.
