Do We Really Have Blameless Politicians In Sierra Leone/Kono District?
I usually sit, think, observe and ask myself; if we actually have Political leaders that may have not committed wrong to the country or the district in one way or the other? There are countless names of politicians circulating in our minds, who played nothing in the process of making our lives better in Kono district and the country as a whole. Kono district has suffered gravely due to bad politics practiced by those who are there for the moment. They say, we had the vice president; we have the first lady and host of key positions. But, what have we got to show with all of those positions? Nothing; because, we were given the power (Vice President) with no authority. You will agree with me that such happened only in Kono district and some were preaching hatred to the highest and paying cheap loyalty to make their way in ranks within the political world. But with all those odds, there were/are still names to reckon with when it comes to politics. Names, you and I still have respect for, politicians who stood firmly by us during and after trail times. I wanted to name those names; but will not, would wait for the appropriate time to come soonest. Politics is like food when it’s poorly prepared; it will last for short time. I would have loved to call names of politicians who by then were political idols in Kono district; but today, those names have fade out and they will continue to ………..
Politics is a daily process. What have we put in place not to repeat the same thing? With no iota of fear but respect our chiefs are more concern about their staffs rather than us – the subjects. I wonder whether its only Kono district the President has the powers to withdraw staffs from chiefs or he has similar across the nation? Because when critical decisions were taken against Kono district, no chief showed up to rebuke them. All we could hear, they don’t want to loose their staffs which they cherished more than us. Same thing goes to the Parliamentarians; they failed us woefully in the name of protecting their symbols or their second term of office. When am in need who come to rescue me that person I would never forget in my life. They say Kono district is a swing state, oh yes! again, these are people who follow their chiefs; that was then. Much loyalty has failed us, now decisive decisions is the way forward to better the land and ourselves. We always give more to political parties but they give us less in return. I don’t know the cause of this; is it that we do not have a political party that identifies us? Oh yes! I presumed so, if so, what are the plans of getting ours? Or we look for a blameless person within the ranks of the present dispensation. No being is a perfect being everyone of us is liable to some mistakes but that doesn’t mean we are bad at all. On that note, if we; has a swing state can not present ourselves with some one, then I suggest we go for a blameless person. Whose name I will preseSumanyoryah, I am trying to figure out if that’s a Kono name, but all said and done, I am and always moved by deep thinkers. Your words are deep and actually crack the cealing of what many Konos may have long think impossible. Before the Kono generation could make significant impact to our land and the nation as a whole, we must locate the very Konos that keep betraying us and encourage them with the right way to move our district and or country ahead. I am confident as Kono people, we always had open heart and mind to embrace others. But if we properly use these genuinity in to classy leadership, we could be the Saver of Salone from the arms of a volture like leadership over years, who are always ready to devour Salone for their own selfish desire. But believe it or not, we must leave by example to have the rest of the country stand behind us. We must take an initiative like you mentioned, creat a party that stands for, and exibit characters of high end qualities that are second to none. If we do that, believe it or not, you willsee the rest of the country lined up behind the Kono people, because people are fed up and looking for true answers wherever they can find those answers, like why we have so much and still so poor. Think about about it, we need more thinkers like you, thanks for this outstanding contribution of your thought…God bless Kono…God bless Salone…nt after my findings.
