Disgraceful…Airtel Kono Office locked up for rent


Leading mobile telecoms company- Airtel/Orange has daced huge embarrassment early this monring when its offices in Kono was shut down for not paying overdue rent. 

The offices situated at Post Office Road in the heart of Koidu Town, is owned by Tony Konomanyi.  

Speaking to *The Reporter Newspaper*Tony stated that the telecoms company’s initial rent period ended on the 7th of December 2016 and that one Kamal Abass and James Barlatt reportedly working for Airtel had been reneging on the new rent renewal allegedly because he Tony had taken a tough stance not to pay any commission to both men. 

The Landlord, Mr Tony Konomanyi, stated,” Airtel either pay their rent or vacate my property. I’m tired of being treated like a fool by Kamal and Barlatt because I will not pay commission.”

The huge embarrassment came as a shock to staff who came early to the office this monring for normal duties only to discover that their workplace has been locked up by the landlord because their employer has failed to fulfil its rent commitment.

Eyewitnesses have expressed that the mobile company is bigger than the money owed for its rent and should not have allowed such a huge embarrassment to its brand in the country.
