”Nobody is going to convention with Maada Bio” – Yankuba Kai-Samba

Nobody is going to convention with Maada Bio. The process has been already rigged. Hence there’s going to be no convention, but coronation of Maada Bio.
Maada Bio and his cronies in the executive, with the help of Alie Kabba (who has been uncovered of being a Maada Bio backer all this while), have dishonored the most important article of the peace agreement which dictates that: to ensure a sustainable peace and united force to head into the general election and dislodge the inept APC government, it was agreed by all parties, including Maada Bio, that regardless of the outcome of the court case, they should stick to the peace communique. And one of the most important items in the peace agreement was to re-run the 39 constituencies that were contested due to irregularities like parallel executive lists force-introduced by the paopa authorities in those constituencies, and constituency chairmen of some of some of these affected constituencies conducting their own election (instead of allowing district chairmen to have conducted those elections, as per SLPP constitution).
As a result of Maada Bio’s abandoning the peace agreement, and insisting that these the 39 constituencies affected by the irregularities should no longer be re-run, has essentially rendered the scheduled national executive and flag bearer conventions feckless. The manipulations that the paopas executed in those 39 constituencies has automatically made Maada Bio the flag bearer. 35 out of the 39 constituencies are in the NorthWest, arguably the strong support base of the Alliance members. And those constituencies would produce over 120 delegates or so. Maada Bio and his cronies had calculated that these 39 constituencies in question, if the legitimate executive lists were used, would automatically cost Maada Bio the flag bearer election, so they were left with no choice but to manipulate the election process in those constituencies. And that is also why they have dishonored the peace agreement by refusing to re-run those constituency elections.
And the Portloko meeting yesterday was organized by the legitimate delegates (disenfranchised delegates) of those constituencies affected by manipulations and some senior SLPP stakeholders to prevail on all progressive SLPP members, who want to see changes in SLPP and fair play instituted back into the party, to boycott the convention and render it a “one man show” ( i.e. the oppressive group of the party).
