APC Chairman bars Political Parties in Tonko Limba Chiefdom

The Chairman of the governing All People’s Congress Party (APC) in Tonko Limba Chiefdom has barred all Political Parties from entering and holding meetings in the chiefdom.
This, he claimed is because Tonko Limba is an APC ground and that he has instructions from APC stakeholders in Freetown not to ever allow any party other than the APC to enter the town.
Fakeh Conteh who is alleged to have been deported from the United States of America some years ago for allegedly involving in some felonious activities became the APC Chairman of the Chiefdom in 2013.
Speaking at the Chiefdom’s Court Barry, Mr. Conteh said he will not allow any other political party to hold a meeting in their town, more especially when some opposition leaders are in the habit of condemning their National Chairman and Leader, President Koroma.
He stressed that Politicians like Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray; Presidential candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) would never be allowed to have a meeting in the Chiefdom because of his consistent condemnation of the APC regime.
“It would be risky for my position as Chairman of the APC to allow other political parties to have a gathering in this chiefdom, particularly Kamarainba, because in the event that APC stakeholders in Freetown know about it, I would be punished,” he stated, vowing never in his life would he grant permission to any other party to hold political meetings in the chiefdom.
For his part, the town chief of Tonko Limba, Alimamy Turay said he had always been informed about political gatherings in the Chiefdom, stating that the APC Chairman Fakeh Conteh has no authority to ban other political parties from entering the town.
He added that though the Chiefdom is dominated by APC supporters, yet there are other people living in the town who are supporters and sympathisers of other parties.
Chief Turay told the gathering that the Chiefdom was the stronghold of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) during the regime of late Ahmed Tejan Kabba and urged the APC Chairman to abandon his plan which he claimed he got from Freetown.
