The Presidential candidate for the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray Thursday February 9, 2017, dazzled the people of Rolankonoh village with 30 bags of imported cement for the construction of a primary school.
Rolankonoh village is a sleeping suburb in Marampa Chiefdom, Constituency 050 Port Loko District, northern Sierra Leone with about 140 houses, largely dominated by poor farmers.
While touring the Constituency nearly eight months after the July 9, 2016 bye-election, Kamarainba thanked the people in several villages visited. He told the villagers that he was pleased with them for maintaining their relationship with the ADP.
Having donated the cement to the people of Rolankonoh village via the ADP Northern Region Chairman, Foday Daramy, MKM begged the villagers to take ownership of the project for the benefit of their children.
Kamarainba also told the people that the situation of their children trekking three miles to the neighboring village to school, remind him of his own days when he used to trek to school which was why he deemed it necessary to construct a school in their village.
He reminded the people that all human beings are born equal in the sight of God and therefore urged them to encourage their children to take their education with the utmost seriousness it deserves.
The ADP Presidential hopeful emphasized that he was not building the school because he was vying for the presidency of the country, nothing that he believes in empowering people irrespective of their political affiliations.
Mr. Mansaray added that he decided to construct the school in the village primarily to easy the stress and pains of both the children and their parents. He said the people need support and encouragement so as not to be dejected.
He also encouraged the people to be resilient in the face of the current hardship in the country, maintaining that should he be elected president of Sierra Leone in the 2018 election, he would bring succour to most of their problems.
He informed the people that they were extremely suffering as a result of the bad economic policies of the Koroma led administration and the consequent austerity measures which has made life unbearable for the greater majority of Sierra Leoneans.
He, however stressed that the only way to express their anger over the hardship being faced by them is to vote against the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) in the 2018 elections.
He pointed out that another reason why they were suffering, was as a result of the festival of corruption in the country, stating that President Koroma has been protecting the fantastically corrupt set of people in government.
“This has also worsening the standard of living under this APC administration,” he maintained.
However, the people appreciated the development and said such project was the first ever in their village. They offered special prayers for Kamarainba and the ADP. The people also commended him for rescuing their children at this trying time.
Meanwhile, men, women and children in the village overwhelmingly appreciated the development hoping and praying that Kamarainba would be the next president of Sierra Leone. They noted that it was uncommon to see a politician implementing a project in a community when he has not grab power.
