The former vice president of Sierra Leone Sam Sumana has threatened to ask his supporters to join ADP Mohamed Kamarainba to protest against the National Electoral Commission should it fail to announce a new date for the postponed election within three week.
Speaking to our reporter Tuesday on the next line of action of the coalition, Sam hinted that according to his sources within NEC and APC, the election was postponed from the initial date, because the NEC have plans to rig election in favour of the All People’s Congress (APC).
Sam alleged that NEC in its deliberate effort to dance to the tune of the president Koroma, had wanted to conduct the election without using an updated voters registration logs.
He also alleged that, the decision by NEC not to announce the date of 2018 election is simply to pave the way for the APC to perpetuate their rigging plot or 99 tactics.
According to VP “all these are calculated attempts to dance to the tune of the APC hence they are in control of the country for now. But, I am assuring the people of Sierra Leone that, our coalition will not hesitate to go to the streets of Freetown and protest against the NEC over the delay of election date, if they refuse to announce a date for the Sierra Leone election within three weeks”, he said.
Sam also lashed at the President Koroma’s government for not making any categorical statement on the development, saying, it simply connotes nothing but compromise.
