REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE ARMED FORCES (RSLAF) RECRUITMENT DRIVE 2017Vacancies exist for voluntary enlistment into the RSLAF. Recruitment will be firstly into the Army and thereafter, there will be opportunities for suitably qualified personnel for transfer to the Navy, Air Force and Specialist Units such as Engineering, Tailoring, Driving, Communication and Agriculture etc.
Interested male and female candidates are encouraged to apply and must satisfy the under-mentioned conditions. Candidates who had already submitted their applications before are not required to re-apply, as those applications will be processed.
1. Civilian Candidates for Officer Cadet
a. Applicants must be a Sierra Leonean.
b. Applicants must be between the ages of 18-29 years for women and 18- 25 years for men. Women with Degree or skills training and are above the age limit will be given a case by case consideration.
c. Applicants must be single.
d. Applicants must have credit C6 or better in at least 5 subjects (including English Language) at WASSCE or equivalent examination. Preference will be given to Degree, HTC or HND holders.
e. Applicants must not have been a convicted criminal.
f. Applicants must be physically and mentally fit.
2. Soldier Candidates for Officer Cadet
a. A serving soldier can apply for officer cadet as long as he or she satisfies the above-mentioned conditions.
b. In addition, he or she will be given an extended age limit up to 30 years.
Candidates for Soldier Recruits
a. Applicant must be a Sierra Leonean.
b. Applicant must be between the ages of 18-29 years for women and 18-25 years for men. Women with vocational skills training and are above the age limit will be given a case by case consideration.
c. Applicant must be single.
d. Applicant must have at least 5 passes at BECE (including English Language). Preference will be given to candidates with vocational skills training.
e. Applicant must not have been a convicted criminal.
f. Applicant must be physically and mentally fit.
4. Interested applicants must present original and photocopies of their results, birth certificates or affidavits, national ID cards or passports and letters of recommendation from any two (2) of the following authorities to confirm the candidate’s area of origin and to serve as his/her moral guarantor:
Paramount Chief, Parliamentarian, Councilor, Senior Government Official, and Any other Local Authority.
REPORTING CENTRES AND DATES will be announced later.
The screening process will include Education, Physical Fitness and Medical Tests.
