An opinion by Journalist Aruna Turay
A very famous young man, Idrissa Kpanga sometime in January 2017 was declared mysteriously missing, with allegations of him being kidnapped “because he was critical on government issues”.
Few days later, well, after lots and lots of noise was made by some of us journalists and his family members, especially his BEST woman friend, Idrissa again mysteriously resurfaced allegedly bear footed, shirt turned inside out and afro haircut badly shaved.
According to his woman friend, Idrissa was looking very weak when she picked him up somewhere out of Freetown and could hardly stand nor utter a work in explanation of WHERE HAS HE BEEN?, WHAT WENT WRONG?, WHO DID WHAT TO HIM?, WHAT WAS BEING DONE TO HIM?, WHY WAS IT DONE TO HIM?, and many other unexplained answers.
However, all of us former noise causers managed to understand reasons why answers to the above questions were yet to be said by our colleague, on the grounds that he was kind of traumatized and fatigue to have said a word then.
But what is now paining some of us former noise causers on the disappearance of our colleague is the simple fact that even after a week, the lost and resurfaced colleague is yet to say a word to the world.
This has even resulted to wide speculations, doubting the fact that the young man was actually kidnapped as alleged. Some people are now of the funny opinion that he might have been involved in some kind of CULTISM initiation that requires shaving of heads, torturing and detention for some days.
What is more suspicious is the fact that the lost and mysteriously resurfaced colleague is yet to make an official complain to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) where his woman friend (noise causer No. 1) has earlier made reports that his man friend has being kidnapped.
Secondly, my source at the CID say even the woman friend has refused to go back to the CID to update them on the mystery as it unfolds. Readers, this piece is not intended to mock the situation surrounding my mysteriously lost and returned colleague, but simple to put the author’s mind to REST.
By now, it is an open secret that the name, Aruna Turay, has been tagged as being controversial when it comes to “BLASTING WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR, WHEN THINGS OF NATIONAL INTEREST ARE WRONGLY DONE AND PROMOTING WHEN THEY ARE RIGHTLY DONE.” So if colleagues like Idrissa, a PHOTOGRAPH journalist, who is little known and very uncontroversial when it comes to talking on government/national issues, could be Kidnapped on allegations of him being critical on government issues, then people like Aruna have every reason to be VERY CONCERNED AND WORRIED.
Can someone please talk to the world, especially to us the former noise causers of the BRING BACK IDRISSA campaign? Was our colleague journalist really kidnapped? Was he in a kind of cultic initiation at it is now widely suspected? Is he still unable to explain his mysterious ordeal? When will he talk? Can someone give the CID a lead to the mysterious scenario? Who are the alleged kidnappers? Was it a manipulated attempt by some bad people to paint our current government black to the wider world???
