The day was Saturday, August, 27th, 2016. It’s a day I will not forget for a long time to come. I was very excited and also pleased to hear my next president of Sierra Leone, Mohamed K. Mansaray, chairman and founder of Alliance Democratic Party(ADP) with precision and articulated his political philosophy and policies in an exclusive interview with Mustapha Wai on Mambatv. He went on and informed his listeners about the poor state of Sierra Leone’s economy and how the APC led government of Ernest Bai Koroma is supervising an economy of dig hole cover hole. The unmitigated corruption and lawlessness supervised by president Koroma and his government has almost led to the crumbling of Sierra Leone’s fragile economy.
What is pathetic about the APC led government of President Koroma, he went on to say, is the care free and reckless manner in which our meager resources is constantly looted, mismanaged and wasted. Kamarainba also made reference to the competition among president Koroma’s cabinet ministers, senior civil servant, etc,etc bragging about who has the most expensive house or cars, meaning who has stolen the most money from this government. President Koroma been a crook and a thief himself is finding it difficult to rein in the boys and girls of his government. His criminal syndicate is very persistent in their desire to bring Sierra Leone to it’s knees before they leave office. President Enest Bai Koroma’s ineptitude and greed has unequivocally surrendered our sovereignty, our dignity as a people and the entire country for that matter to hard core criminals of his government and also those foreign criminal elements this government is willing to do business with.
But on a more positive note, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray went on to outline his vision for Sierra Leone and laid emphasis on education; which he believes is the corner stone for any future development. Educating our future leaders and training our young people for the jobs of the future is crucial in any developing economy like ours. And to accomplish educating our future leaders and a work force geared to the needs of our country, it is but necessary to give each child the opportunity to a free education. Free education in Sierra Leone, he went on, is affordable if we as government put our priorities straight.
Kamarainba emphasized his goal for free education and free lunch for our children will be accomplished, if he is elected president come 2018. To hear Mohamed K. Mansary speak on Mambatv, reminded me of his arduous political journey and now his extraordinary political progress and, maturity, above all his stunning accomplishment in a political arena, the Sierra Leone political pundits gave him zero chance of surviving is now the unofficial opposition mouth piece of our people. He has done a great job in selling our political philosophy in a way our people understand and his patience in that effort is a great asset. That, which has paid political dividends in the Bombali, Lunsar, and port-Loko bye-elections. As a committed and loyal supporter it means a lot to me and his many supporters. We are grateful to have a dedicated and progressive leader who is focused in addressing the issues that affect our country and people the most.
